I am not comfortable in front of the camera.  I spend so much time behind a camera that I have never been comfortable in front of one.  This year I decided to face my insecurities and step in front of the camera.  I didn’t hire anyone for this project, instead I let go of control and did self portraits…not the “hold the camera in front of your face” type of self portraits, but “set it up how I would want to take a picture and try to make my vision come to life” type of self portraits.

I took hundreds of pictures.  I worked on this every week for about four months.  I learned a lot about myself, my photography, and my insecurities…and surprisingly I had a great time!

I feel like I am going out on a limb sharing this with you.  These images aren’t technically perfect, but I have learned to see beauty in the imperfections of images.

So, blogging world, here it is!
